About the Eastern National Board

Eastern National is governed by a nine-member board of directors. Candidates for positions on the board of directors are chosen for their past involvement or interest in, or knowledge of, the operations and programs of the association, or for their involvement in conservation, historic preservation, interpretation, or other activities relating to the work of the National Park Service and other public trusts. The association will also seek individuals with special talents needed to strengthen and enhance the operations of the association. No director may be a current employee of the National Park Service or any other public trust.

National Park Service Advisory Group

The purpose of the National Park Service Advisory Group is to maintain an open line of communication and foster goodwill between Eastern National and the National Park Service. The National Park Service Advisory Group consists of active National Park Service employees, who advise the president and board of directors of Eastern National on current issues and challenges, and act as liaisons for other National Park Service employees. The Advisory Group consists of one representative per geographical region of the National Park Service that Eastern National serves, and a group chair.

The Advisory Group makes suggestions and recommendations to the board and president on ways to enhance the operating relationship between Eastern National and the National Park Service.
